I know it is wrong to brand a country as a dangerous place to live or to visit (just like what people are doing to Mexico and Cuba) but it can not be helped especially as reports after reports of fatalities, murder, and drugs are rampant on those countries. The common negative effect of such news is the poor tourism that the reported country receives and its neighboring countries.
