| Kate in Colombia - December 2007 - Part 1 Special thank you to a friend, driver, and bodyguard Marcello. You always made me feel safe and had anything I needed delivered as if I were a princess. You are first rate. Please thank Pedro also and the other guard (I can't remember his name, he was always so quiet and undercover! And the other guard who was never in sight!) Marcello, you are a true professional, always on point. You were patient with my spanish so we could become friends. Thank you my friend for everything. The service at The Cardena Richmond Suites in La Zona Rosa was unsurpassed. Exceptional! The hotel rooms were immaculate. Marcello informed me the hotel has good security and security cameras on every single block in the area. The entire hotel staff was very polite and friendly. They too were patient with my spanish so that it was possible to communicate. The young lady at the front desk does speak english fluently and she was always gracious bringing the phone to me, if I was in the internet room or in the restaurant or wherever (like they do in the movies!) Muchas Gracias a la gente de Colombia. What a beautiful people you are! Finally thank you Toby, You are fun, generous and downright nice! It was a pleasure to get to know you. Things I noticed about Colombia: Of interest were the gray or camouflage planes and jets at the Colombian Airport. I thought to avoid shoot downs by narco-terroists, FARC, and ELN? Interesting.
