Answers: Has anyone been to Colombia in the past few years? Anything I should kn

Thank author of this post/commentI'm planning a trip to see a friend in Bogota, Colombia soon and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me? I've been outside the country before so I know general travel rules, but I've never been to South America before.

I have been to Colombia last year and one thing I would say, there's nothing to worry about this place because it's safe there. If you plan this trip to be a vacation, do not think of any apprehensions. It will just ruin your excitement. In Colombia you will discover a lot of new things, culture and traditions. But I tell you, Colombia is a great place and I'm very sure that your trip will be a wonderful one.

There are many of us who are more convinced to spend a short vacation to a foreign place. Colombia could be one of the tourist destinations but as a stranger in the country you really have to prepare yourself with everything. Hence, it is important to make a checklist of the things you need to bring. Book your ticket in advance back and forth. Make just that your budget is enough or more for different activities you may do there.

Well, do not travel alone, and make sure that your embassy is aware of your traveling there so that they can give you any updated advisories about the country as well as warn you if any situations develop while you are there. It also makes just good sense that the embassy knows where you are so your family can at least contact someone if you get out of contact with them for some reason.
